Mehaffey construction is a very professional construction company. They finished our deck faster than what they we thought they would and they cleaned up their mess. We used another construction company a few years ago and they were really messy and didn't show up on time at all. Mehaffey was always on time and we couldn't be happier.
I contracted Mehaffey Const to remodel my kitchen and both bathrooms. They did a great job. Quality work, good price, efficient and respectful workers, great communication, met their stated promised deadlines, flexible and open minded to meet my needs and make changes. Next time I need work done I will be sure to use this company.
I am a general contractor and this company was hired to do work on our site. I see terrible contractors all day in my business but this time it's not just the workers, it is the management. They have found a way to lower the bar of professionalism. The list of poor communication, and actually chastising the field crews to "just make it work or you are fired" mentality is breathtaking. When the crews left nails all around the house along with countless cigarette butts, they were told to no longer smoke on the property by the resident. The owner said he would need to charge additional hours to account for smoke breaks off site. Many properties are tobacco free and this is a level of disrespect that even I as a seasoned contractor was amazed at.
This company is an embarrassment to the legitimate construction industry. Don't believe it? call and ask the owner his take on the situation, it will become obvious pretty quickly.
If you are considering this company, I would recommend you think very hard and avoid the headaches of dealing with a change order happy contractor who berates not only his crews in front of the customer, but berates the customer with obnoxious demands for full payment when the work is not half done and threatens to not return until money for ridiculous demands is paid.
